We are in the beautiful New Forest so, of course, there are loads and loads of lovely walks, from a half hour gentle stroll, to disappearing for the day with a map, a backpack and a picnic.
There is a chilled walk from the campsite that we do a lot, turn right out of our gate, and bimble off up the track and around Gorley Common, say hello to the New Forest ponies, pop in to the wonderful dog friendly Potting Shed Café for a coffee and maybe some cake! before heading back again, and it's all downhill on your way home :)
The fantastic Hyde Garden shop is next to the Potting Shed, it sells all sorts of scrummy food, nibbles, ice cream and gifts... it's well worth the wander.
There are numerous great bike tracks across the forest, so if you're a keen cyclist, there are miles of fantastic routes ahead of you.
If you fancy something a bit more adrenalin fuelled The New Forest Water Park is just up the road with lots of fantastic fun activities including cable wake-boarding, kayaking and paddle boarding, not to mention the crazy fun inflatable aqua park!!
Paultons Park is a good day out, with over 70 rides and attractions, 140 acres of parkland and beautiful gardens. It is also the home of Peppa Pig World, so if you have smalls it's a great way to wear them out!!
The hop on/hop off open top bus is perfect if it's a dry day, see the glorious New Forest in comfort and jump off when you need an ice-cream :)
The Playgrounds at Fordingbridge - On the banks of the River Avon, next to the 13th Century seven arched bridge, is as picturesque as it could possibly be. There is lots of play apparatus and tons of space. There’s even a skate park and a paddling pool. Plus you can get a coffee, cakes and a pie from the Riverside Kiosk if you need an energy boost, or walk over the bridge to The George for a pint!
We're pretty much half an hour or so away from a multitude of attractions: Highcliffe Beach, Moors Valley Country Park, Beaulieu Motor Museum, Bucklers Hard, Exbury Gardens, Salisbury Cathedral, The New Forest Wildlife Park, Eling Tide Mill as well as many others...
Greenfields is a great place to start from for your exciting day out, and a really great place to return to at the end of it...
